E-Den, 2018-2024
This series of five etchings, inspired by Gustav Doré’s engravings from the Genesis narrative, combine traditional printmaking techniques (hard ground etching and aquatint on copper plates) with digital 3D modeling and laser engraving.These works examine the tension between historically singular narratives of western culture and the individualized world-building of contemporary digital culture (VR,Metaverse, The Sims, etc.). E-Den explores the liberating, confusing, and isolating implications this shift has on our deepest beliefs and how we experience the world.
